Well after a long time away from the blog, for a whole host of reasons, I am now back to share my knitting journey with you all.
I wanted to use Lockdown as a trigger to start blogging again and am only sorry it has taken me 12 weeks+! Never mind I have been productive none the less! Productive in sorting out my growing number of projects which are a stones throw away from being “ready to wear”. I am so looking forward to my new wardrobe. Not that I have plans to go anywhere but maybe I will be able to showcase them on my “daily walks”.
I have had a birthday during lockdown and was lucky enough to receive an amazon gift card which I put towards some new blocking mats. I have many a project to block and today I set about pinning out the first one which is Bright by the wonderful Kim Hargreaves.
Bright is knitted in the wonderful Rowan Handknit cotton. I used a shade which is now discontinued – 341, a very pale grey.
Tomorrow I will finish off the neck and them the garment will be ready for seaming. I then need to choose buttons.
Kim Hargreaves released a new book a few weeks ago Ravish, her summer collection. The designs are stunning and I have yarn to knit a few of the garments. First on the needles is Alicia.
This is knitted in the gorgeous Rowan Kidsilk Haze. I am using shade 634 which is cream. Progress is good, the back is done and I am on to the armhole shaping for the left front. A long time since I have knitted anything on 6mm needles, I am using addi’s.
I hope you will join me on my journey as I knit my way out of Lockdown – however long that may be…….
Stay safe. x
