Time yet

to finish knitting my 6th Christmas sock.

We have had a fair amount of snow the last couple of days so the more woolly things we have to keep us warm the better!

Have a great week and enjoy your knitting.

My current work in progress:

THEA

I am using Rowan Kid Classic in claret – a lovely red wine colour.

Well today was a bit more human weather wise with a little bit of the cheery sunshine. Rumour has it it warmed up for one day only – back to minus 5 tomorrow!

Better get knitting those winter woolies!

Happy Knitting

1st December

Who would have believed we are in to December. Very cold too, colder than I ever remember it being this time of year. Fortunately we have not had too much snow aroud here but there is time yet!

Anyway good progress on the 3rd pair of Christmas socks.

I love the sparkly bits in these but they do feel a little thinner than the others I have knitted. Nevermind I am beginning to think I should be knitting 6 ply socks to keep the tootsies warm and snug throughout winter.

Quiet Time

Hi

It may have been a little quiet around here of late but there has been knitting albeit in small dozes.

20101127_1.jpg                             Some Christmas socks – 2 out of 3 pairs finished!

Emma is also finished and I am busy sewing the final touches to her – she wouldn’t go over my head at the first attempt. Never mind if at first you don’t suceed try try again.

More of that white stuff is forecast let’s hope it is nothing compared to last winter.

Happy Knitting.

Winter Wooly

My latest project is Emma.

This is going to be one cosy jumper. It is from the Araucania collection book 1 by Jenny Watson.

Despite the cables a relatively quick knit on the front
20101026_48.jpg
and well the back took no time at all being stocking stitch on 6mm needles

The yarn is hand dyed in Chile, called Azapa and is 30% alpaca, 45% merino, 15% silk and 10% donegal – soft as soft! Love it.

Better get knitting on those sleeves so I can wear the jumper!

Happy knitting

The second sleeve of breeze is progressing well.

I do intend to finish this and then it is going in to the “sew-up” box and I am going to concentrate on my winter jumpers. I have a few things to sew up all of which are Spring / Summer garments so I will do them over the course of the next 6 months ready for Spring 2011!

I hope you are having a good week-end. Happy knitting.

Be Happy

Ok so Christmas is a little way’s off but I needed something cheery for a “long” journey earlier in the week.

The trick now is working out where the pattern repeat starts. The yarn for these socks was very expensive so I kind of feel a duty to “match” the pair.

Have a great week-end.

Christmas is coming…..

Well this yarn was rather an extravagant purchase but I have to say so far I think it was worth it. Afterall Chirstmas comes but once a year and we all deserve a treat now and again!
Have fun with your knitting

Second Sleeve

Progressing nicely

sleeve_2_20100927_3.jpg

Not had time to do much knitting on this this evening but I don’t think it will take me long once I get going! I have done a few rounds of a “second sock” whilst my iPad updates – it is all second …….. at the moment!

Happy knitting.

Lovely and bright colours don’t you think?

It has been a cold day today. I feel coat and gloves may be coming out this week. I had better get going with those Christmas socks!
I am also making good progress with the second sleeve for Breeze but I will talk about that tomorrow.
Have a great week and Happy Knitting.
