Bank Holiday Monday

As promised here is a photo of my seeded scarf.

I am knitting with a yarn I have not tried before. It is a cashmere dk from Lotus Yarns. I actually purchased the yarn from Skein Queen who are based very local to me – 5 miles down the road in fact!

I thought this would be a quick knit but have to say it is taking longer than I was expecting.

Work tomorrow!

Happy New Year

A very Happy New Year to you all. I cannot believe it is 2012. Well 2011 was not too good on the knitting front so I am determined to make 2012 more of a success.

I could make a few resolutions but may be I will be better without them! Just a little bit of knitting planned for January and a lot of finishing!

Finish seeded rib scarf
Finish Thea from Kim Hargreaves Precious book
Knit my 5 squares for Debbie Abrahams Mystery Blanket
Finish 2 pairs of socks already on the needles
and if I get all of that done there is

Sport from Rowan book 25 – another Kim Hargreaves special to sew up
Buttons to sew on to Daisy
Breeze to sew up

So plenty to do but no stressing about it. It will all be done by spring!

I will take a photo of the seeded rib scarf tomorrow.

October

Too much time on Ravelry and not enough time knitting probably sums up my summer quite well. Time to address the balance as I have so many projects I want to finish and so many projects queing!

Apart from socks and blankets my latest project is one of Kim Hargreaves designs Patsy.

This design was in Kim’s book Touching Elegance. The design can be knitted using felted tweed or the lovely wool-cotton which I am using. I do have felted tweed lined up to make a second though! The shade I am using is Gypsy. I hope to get some photo’s outside tomorrow.

We have had some cracking weather yesterday and today – 29 degrees! Wow unheard of for October 1st. Let’s enjoy whilst it lasts!

I received this today, gorgeous hand dyed, luxurious yarn from Hipknits in a lovely autumnal colour. Yet to look at patterns which came this month – decisions, decisions.

Also got latest copy of Knitting magazine – enchanting knits for autumn. Very inspiring!

A day out

A few weeks ago a friend and I had a lovely day out in London. We visitied Loop. What a lovely shop, it was a beautiful sunny day which helped and Islington had a real buzz about it. We plan another visit very soon!

One of my purchases was this.

Some Misti Alpaca. I chose an autumnal shade. This evening I have cast on a pair of socks.

Sunny Monday

Hello!

I had better get those summer knits finished before the sunshine disappears.

I have nearly finished all the knitting for Peace. Just the left front to finish – maybe this evening!

Enjoy your day.

Edda

This has been my holiday knitting for the last 11 days and so far I am pleased with what I see. Rowan’s All Season’s Cotton is a lovely yarn to knit with and knits up quite quickly too.

2 fronts

Sleeve number 1 is on the needles and I am not expecting it to take too long! There is of course sleeve 2 when it is finished.

Have a great week.
